Inspire creativity, create a community, and ignite a passion

Imagination Team was created by Emily Pasillas, a high school REACH Intern, during the 2024-25 academic year. Emily and her team of interns have a passion for creative writing. They wanted to nurture and celebrate creativity in young writers by providing a fun, supportive space to explore imaginative storytelling and self-expression. "Our goal is to help students strengthen their writing skills through engaging prompts, collaborative activities, and creative challenges that complement what they’re already learning in the classroom", Emily Chi said, the new team lead this year.

Through this program, elementary students participate in writing prompts, group stories, and activities that spark their imagination and confidence in expressing ideas. Past themes have included biography writing, science fiction, nature writing, and more.

The Imagination Team inspires a love for creative writing while helping students grow as thoughtful readers, writers, and storytellers. By encouraging curiosity and exploration, we aim to show that writing can be both a skill and an adventure learning from their peers. The result is a win win for all students involved.

The Imagination Team is free to CASA students. The program has been vetted and approved by the Intern Executive Cabinet, REACH Foundation Board and key District Leaders.
