HAPPY FIRST WEEK OF THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR!
Congratulations George Key!
"George Key was just informed that one of our 4 student artwork submissions to the World Games Art Exhibition for the Special Olympic World Games LA 2015 was accepted to participate!!
The exhibition is being hosted by the Tierra del Sol Foundation and will be held during the Olympic Games on the campuses of UCLA and USC, July 25-August 2, 2015.
A huge thanks to the PYLUSD R.E.A.C.H. Foundation for their "reaching" out to George Key to make this possible! Debi Grant of R.E.A.C.H. heard about it and thought of us....and forwarded the information. Debi along with their leader Julie and team do such an amazing job supporting all our PYLUSD students! We are most fortunate! ~ and appreciative!"
Principal, George Key School
And thank you Debi for your role in sharing this opportunity with George Key and being a tireless advocate for the Arts on behalf of all our students. You are always going above and beyond to figure out opportunities for our district, contribute your artistic flare and help demonstrate the true value of the arts in our students' lives.
We are so appreciative of volunteers like you!
Community Partners in Action
"We are very excited to be here in Yorba Linda and are looking forward to be a part of the community. Julie, Stephanie and everyone at the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation have been wonderful to work with."
We at the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation are equally as excited about the summer donation drive and hope this is the start of a great relationship to help us reach our goals!

Special R.E.A.C.H. Supported ART Project
- Submitted by Mrs. Halliday -
“Crossing the Boundaries” is the title of the collaborative art project funded by the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation.
On Tuesday, February 24, Mrs. McDonald’s first grade class from Golden Elementary walked to Tuffree Middle School to spend the day exploring, experimenting and having fun while learning with Mrs. Halliday’s 8th grade Visual Arts students.
The students worked their way through eight stations of various activities. They created two extra-large paintings designed to be displayed at the PDA and PAC, practiced reading and measuring skills, experimented with painting techniques, learned how to manipulate Spirograph, and enjoyed visiting with their new buddies.
Both Mrs. Halliday and Mrs. McDonald agreed that this is the first of many collaborative projects to come. Thank you to the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation for supporting our students!
And we at the Foundation would like add we're so glad to be able to support this wonderful collaboration and thank Mrs. Halliday and Mrs. McDonald in return for their passion to make it happen!
The district website at www.pylusd.org is a great place to go to get event calendar, latest school updates, superintendent news, and more. The site now even includes video highlights of special events within the district. Bookmark it as the "go to" place to see the amazing things going on in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School district.
For all other things, school or student related, join us here at the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation.
So Much Going On!
